We are on a road trip!
OK. Not always :-(. But when we are we will let you know.
Simply follow us from the #besembekroadtrip – Updates page! Here we sometimes post updates of our travels as they happen – not always, but when we come across something we think should not wait for later this is where you will find it. These posts usually need an edit afterwards (our sub-editor does not travel with us) and we sometimes add more information and photos if needed.
Remember to Subscribe for E-Mail Notifications – a speedy way for us to get messages about posts on our travels to you while we are on the road. You will receive instant notifications via e-mail should we post anything to the web page. There are different categories you may subscribe to, so choose what you think will work best for you.
Also, view our live dashcam and live broadcasts from some of the magical places we visit (depending on reception) – see LIVE BROADCASTS for more information.
On Facebook, you will get daily posts on places to visit and Magical Places to sleep at.
On Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and AllSocial we share some photos of old and recent road trips. Some photos were published, some would never be!
Thank you for your support. Please share far and wide if you think this will help someone.

We bring you personal opinions on well-known and lesser-known places to stay at and visit.
Our message to hosts of all sorts:
Be the best host you can be. Give the best service you can. You may see hundreds or thousands of holidaymakers every year. Holidaymakers will see you probably once in their lifetime. Sometimes they save for years to reach a destination – to be hosted, fed and entertained by YOU. They will not have much patience. They will expect the best – because they paid their best money. Give them the best. That is all they ask for. They may never have the opportunity to come back and experience your best the second time if you gave them your second-best the first time. Remember that they very seldom spread the word when they experienced your best, but will make an effort in spreading the word when they experienced only your second-best.
“Everything is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.” – from “The Guide’s Guide to Guiding” (Garth Thompson)
