Omega certainly is one of the most popular destinations we have been to. With weekends fully book months in advance one can understand why this romantic hang-out is so popular. This small establishment just outside Clarens offers only four cabins, two Luxury, and two Deluxe. We ended up in one of the Deluxe cabins.

Omega is a fully self-catering facility yet it is close enough to town to drive in for meals should you wish. The fatal attraction here is the private spa bath at every unit – behind closed doors int the Deluxe cabins, and on the stoep at the Luxury cabins, and then also the double shower offered by the Deluxe cabin. Fully equipped for two with double bed and en-suite bathroom.

The views onto the Swaziland mountains are breathtaking and can be viewed from almost anywhere in the cabin with full glass doors opening fully for warmer days and still allowing one to absorb these views from behind closed doors on the more unpleasant days.

Horse riding can be arranged in the area and if the arty town of Clarens is your thing you may visit that. There are 4X4 and quad tracks on the farm to be explored. No official hiking trails but the property stretches right up to the border and one is free to walk about.

Was there anything we did not like? Not really. We found the noise of the spa bath a bit disturbing initially but then learned it was caused by a water level just a bit too low. It was filled properly and then all was perfect.

Will we go back? There is no doubt in our minds that we will go back – that is if we ever can find an available weekend with them again!
