We waited for our car to be washed and decided to have coffee at Die Eiffel Coffee Shop, a less-than-one-minute walk from the car wash. And then se saw the menu and decided to have something to eat. Portions were generous and although we always brag with our dogs at home, the dogs never see the contents of the doggie-bags, we are dogs when it comes to doggy-bags. We had a second meal that evening. For free. We were warned when we ordered that half-portions are available but we knew better – and we had the dogs in mind.
We first learned about savoury waffles from The Waffle house on the KZN South Coast. The guys in the Free State do a pretty good job up here and have nothing to be ashamed of. So next time you are around South Africa and need a savoury waffle, get on the bus and head over to Parys. It is worth it!
