You must stop for a drink at the Kalahari Oasis – when visiting Mabalingwe. Couples may purchase a love-lock and hang it on the gate. Unfortunately, no day visitors are allowed at Mabalingwe so you have to book accommodation and check-in. There are simply too many decorations to see and messages to read in pitstop time so allow for break-down time. The wiser will remember the Kalahari oasis as the filling station between Toemoerandgone and Poer-in-sy-Moer where the “Ja, Swaer” – Castrol television advertisements from many years ago were filmed.
