The Dell is simply one of those places we will return to time and time again. It is situated on the banks of the Vaal river, only ten kilometres from Parys.

Various types of accommodation are on offer including chalets, camping and tents. We opted for the Luxury Tent.  This tent is equipped for two, with a double bed and en suite bathroom. One can braai on the deck at the chalet using gas or on your private deck on the river using fire.

A two-plate gas stove is used for boiling water for coffee. Cutlery is included and chalets are serviced.

Trails are available, one following the riverfront and between the chalets, and a few more in the game reserve section. No dangerous game so one can stretch legs or take your bicycle for a spin. Canoes are for rent.

The coffee shop on the premises and a small shop with some basic necessities were a lifesaver.

We loved this trip as we managed to re-unite with Jackie, our furry friend (you may read her story over here).

Will we be back? No doubt about it.
